International Opportunities
Undergraduate Students

Many Canadian Engineering Faculties also offer what is commonly referred to as Engineering Internship Programs. Undergraduate students have an opportunity to enter the work force after third year for a year of experience before returning to university to finish their degrees. At the University of Calgary, up to 10 percent of these students have found employment outside of Canada. Students have had a chance to work in countries such as: Switzerland, Malaysia, Japan, Australia, The Netherlands, Hong Kong and Saudi Arabia. The ability to speak another language is not necessary. The employers are mainly not Canadian based companies so the students have an opportunity to work with people from a different cultural background and the experience gained is priceless.
